Declining Content
Declining Content identifies pages that are losing traffic — former performers sliding down the rankings — so you can refresh them before the decline compounds.
Find it under Optimization → Declining Content in your campaign sidebar. Requires a GSC connection.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Click Find Declining Pages. StoryMint compares your GSC data over time and surfaces pages whose clicks, impressions, or positions are trending down, with the queries they’re losing.
These pages also appear in the At risk lane of your campaign’s daily briefing, so a new decline gets flagged the week it starts.
Why content declines — and the matching fix
Section titled “Why content declines — and the matching fix”- It aged. Facts, dates, or screenshots went stale → refresh the content and update the publish date. Send it to the Content Writer with the existing text as the Paste starting point.
- A competitor overtook it. Someone published something better → check what’s ranking now, then close the quality gap. Competitor Spy may have already flagged the piece that did it.
- It’s fighting your own site. A newer page of yours competes for the same query → that’s a Consolidation case, not a refresh.
- Search intent shifted. The query now means something different → re-angle the page or target a better query.
Triage tip
Section titled “Triage tip”Sort your effort by traffic at stake, not by how far a page has fallen. A page down 10% from 10,000 monthly clicks matters more than one down 80% from 50.
