CTR Optimization
CTR Optimization finds pages that rank fine but get clicked less than they should — then helps you fix the titles and snippets that are costing you traffic you’ve already earned.
Find it under Optimization → CTR Optimization in your campaign sidebar. Requires a GSC connection.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Click Run Analysis. StoryMint reads your GSC data (up to your plan’s scan capacity) and builds two things:
CTR by Position
Section titled “CTR by Position”Your property’s average CTR for each search position 1–10, with the impressions, clicks, and query counts behind each. This is your own baseline — position #1 might earn 10% CTR on your site, #4 around 3%, and so on.
Opportunities
Section titled “Opportunities”Pages whose CTR falls below your baseline for their position. Each opportunity shows:
- The page and its queries (expand Show all queries for the full list)
- Current CTR → expected CTR for that position, and the size of the gap (e.g. CTR 0.1% → expected 2.4%)
- Impressions at stake — a page with 57,000 impressions and 13 clicks is leaving real traffic on the table
Click Optimize on an opportunity to work on it.
What usually fixes CTR
Section titled “What usually fixes CTR”The page already ranks — searchers just aren’t choosing it. That’s a title-and-snippet problem: a title that doesn’t match the query’s intent, a meta description that doesn’t make the case, or a competing result that simply looks better. The free Google Snippets Optimizer and Headline Analyzer are built for exactly this rewrite.
