Query Fan-Out
When someone asks an AI assistant a complex question, the assistant silently decomposes it into several smaller sub-searches before composing its answer. Query Fan-Out Analysis shows you that decomposition — so you know every sub-topic your content must cover to be part of the answer.
Find it under AI Search → Query Fan-Out in your campaign sidebar.
Analyze a query
Section titled “Analyze a query”- Enter a question your audience might ask, e.g. Where should I stay in Bali for a family of 4 with nearby halal food options?
- Click Analyze Query.
StoryMint returns the sub-queries the AI engines would generate — anywhere from a handful to dozens (a broad query like best co-working spaces in Southeast Asia can fan out into 36 sub-queries).
Using the results
Section titled “Using the results”Each sub-query is a content opportunity: a specific question you can answer better than anyone else. From the analysis you can generate content briefs to capture each opportunity, then send them to the Content Writer.
Your past analyses stay in Analysis History with their sub-query counts.
When to use it
Section titled “When to use it”- Before writing a pillar page — make sure it covers every sub-question, not just the headline topic
- When a page has traffic but no AI citations — the page may answer the main query but miss the sub-queries assistants actually check
- For content planning — one fan-out analysis can seed a month of connected articles
