Consolidation

Content Consolidation finds places where your own pages compete with each other — several thin pages splitting one query’s ranking signal — and helps you merge them into a single, powerful pillar page.

Find it under Optimization → Consolidation in your campaign sidebar. Requires a GSC connection.

Click Find Thin Content. StoryMint scans your GSC data for overlapping pages — groups of pages competing for the same queries (e.g. 5 overlapping pages · 1,112 impressions). These same overlaps feed the At risk lane of your daily briefing, flagged as pages compete with each other.

When three of your pages half-answer the same query, Google has to pick one — and the split signals often mean none ranks as well as a single complete page would. The same logic applies to AI citations: assistants cite the page that answers a question thoroughly, not three pages that each answer a third of it.

  1. Pick the winner — usually the page with the strongest existing positions and links.
  2. Merge the value in — move the unique, useful sections from the overlapping pages into the winner. The Content Writer’s Paste starting point helps rework merged text into one coherent piece.
  3. Redirect the losers to the winner — don’t leave them live or you’ve just created a fourth competitor.
  4. Re-check after a few weeks — the consolidated page should appear in Low Hanging Fruits or climb outright.
